Skincare Sundays: Facial Mask Faves

Since 2019 has started, thanks to Netflix, everyone has joined the wagon of cleaning out their belongings ruthlessly, and I happen to just be one of the suckers who attempted to do so with my beauty and skincare collection. The good thing about doing this is that it made me realize how much facial masks I’ve hoarded in the past year but haven’t used as much as I would’ve liked. To be honest, it’s been hard for me to even keep up with masking once a week, and so I haven’t been able to use certain face masks I’ve bought since the end of last year until a few months ago. Ever since I realized how much face masks I’ve left unused, I’ve been really trying my best to make sure I mask at least once or twice a week. So far, I’ve been better at doing just that and found some new favorites. Below are some of my go to face masks when I’m feeling like prioritizing my #selfcare time.

  • Summer Fridays Overtime Mask - I’ve always heard of Summer Fridays’ Jetlag mask, however, I wasn’t super inclined to try it because I don’t really need a highly hydrating mask as I have a more oily skin. I really enjoyed using this mask as it uses apricot seeds powder to exfoliate the skin and pumpkin enzymes to boost the skin’s radiance. I find that using this masks really helps get rid of dead skin cell deposits on my skin and boosts the glow of my skin.

  • Glamglow Supermud Activated Charcoal Treatment Mask - This has been my go to purifying mask for years now. I love using this to really get a deep clean of my pores and remove any impurities on my skin. I especially love this during the weekends, after a long week of constantly wearing foundation. It’s been a way for me to deep clean my pores and give my skin a break from all the makeup.

  • Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask - I’ve always seen the travel size of this mask at the checkout line in Sephora but never took the leap and try it until the beginning of this year. This is another mask that I love using to give my skin an extra boost in glow. I find that my skin can sometimes look dull around the Winter season, and I’m usually wanting to just help my skin look healthier and fresher around this time of the year. I also tend to be my lightest shade around this time of year, and without that hint of tan, I feel the need to amp up my skincare to get that glowy look .

  • MAC Mineralize Reset and Revive Charcoal Mask - This product is very similar to the Glamglow mask, but at a more affordable price point. I like using this during the week as a midweek purifying mask. The best part is that it’s really great at helping control the oils on my skin as well!

  • Hungarian Thermal Water Mineral-Rich Atomic Heat Mask - This mask came in the Mask Frenzy set I got from Peter Thomas Roth during the Holidays. I just found the application and effects of this mask very cool and fascinating. First of, you’re supposed to apply it on the skin like a regular mask for a few minutes, and then dampen it with some water which gives you a flash of heat which helps make the skin feel very refreshed. My skin feels purified and cleaned out, and it just instantly looks plump and make it look healthier. I think I may have some of my clients use this if they need a bit of pick me up for their skin.
