Upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 Releases + Sephora VIB Spring Bonus

Spring and Summer releases in the world of makeup really gets me excited. The more vibrant and pastel colors inspire me to play up my makeup a bit more and reminds me that warm sunny weather is coming! For a few years now, I haven’t been super excited with Spring collections because they’ve become repetitive and cliche to me. I mean, one can only have so many pastel/rose gold/golden tone eyeshadows and teal/electric blue eyeliner. This year, however, I like that there’s significantly more variation of products and not just pop of colors eyeshadow palettes. I figured for today’s post, I want to talk about late Spring/early Summer releases that caught my attention, especially since the Sephora VIB Spring sale is coming up in a few weeks. I figured, if I’m going to try any of these products, I might as well get some of them with a 15% discount!

  • Patrick Ta Beauty — Highlighting Mist and Body Oil

I’ve been a big fan of Patrick Ta’s work on numerous actresses on the red carpet, and I’m super excited for his new makeup line! I must say for a first launch he did an outstanding job choosing which products to release first! I really am intrigued with the highlighting mist as it’s something I’ve not seen before. Highlighting products in the industry tend to either be setting mists or in drops/fluid form. I’ve also been into the idea of using body oils in the Summer to make my skin look glowy, especially on vacay, and so I will definitely be trying out a bunch of his new products.

  • Fenty Beauty Body Lava

This is one of those releases that I snoozed on last year. I’m so glad it came back this year, and there’s a new golden shade too! I remember all the hype about it on Insta and I really wanted to try this last year, but somehow didn’t end up getting it because it was always out of stock. But I’m determined to give this one a try this year, because I’ve heard so many rave reviews about it and I’m intrigued to see what the fuss is all about.

  • Nars Orgasm Collection — Eye Palette and Oil-Infused Lip Tint

Ah, the product shade that made people in makeup counters blush! Provocative name aside, I’ve been a big fan of Nars’ Orgasm shade! I just recently went through my lipgloss drawer and tossed out my very first Orgasm lipgloss from years ago (yuck, I know! Don’t worry, I haven’t used that one in years, hence the tossout.) This collection reminded me of how much I loved this shade and I’m very intrigued with the new oil-infused lip tint formulation. I also really like the color combination of the Orgasm Palette! They seem perfect for a pop of color on the lid. I definitely need to swatch them and decide if they will fit my needs for my makeup collection before I decide to buy it.

  • Pixi Beauty Oils

I've been seeing a lot of Pixi Beauty lately! They seem to be upping their game with the products they’ve been coming out. What really got my attention is their new Beauty Oils. I’m interested to check these out and maybe try some on me. I tend to not buy facial oils because I already have oily skin, and in my experience they don’t really do much for me, except make me more oily. I’m willing to give these ones a try because they’re not as expensive, and the gold oil reminds me of the Farsali Rose Gold Elixir Oil.

  • Laneige Glowy Lip Balm

I am so excited that Laneige is finally coming out with a tube version of their lip mask! It’s been a lifesaver for my constantly dehydrated lips, however, I really don’t like it when lip balms come in pots, because it’s not as easy to re-apply them as I always have to worry about washing my hands first. The tube packaging will definitely be in my purse for my touchups! I don’t expect this balm to be as hydrating as the lip mask, but I’m crossing my fingers that it comes close.

  • Makeup Forever Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder

I really get super oily in the end of Spring and during Summer, and I’ve been liking the idea of wearing a powder foundation around this time of the year, but haven’t really found a solid formulation. I remember liking MUFE’s Matte Powders from years ago, when I was still starting with makeup. I’m hoping this one works even better than the old one. I’m also not opposed to wearing this on top of my foundation, and using it for touch-ups later in the day.

  • Pat McGrath Eyedols Single Eyeshadows

You all know my love for Pat McGrath products! I am so excited to try out her new single shadows. This new product lineup has 18 new shades, and while I want to grab every single one, I will hold off and check out the colors first and swatch them in person, before picking colors to get. I have most of her eyeshadow palettes, and I want to avoid getting similar shades.

  • MAC Electric Wonder

It’s been awhile since I got super hyped about a MAC Collection, but the packaging and color selection of this collection is outstanding! I definitely want most of it! This is definitely one of those collections that I’m getting mostly for packaging. I mean, I can vouch for MAC products’ quality, but to top it off with beautiful looking packaging?! Yes, please!

  • HudaBeauty x Olivia Culpo Lashes

I love how voluminous Huda Beauty Lashes are, however, I haven’t been able to try out any of them because of how much longer these lashes are, which makes them look too much on me. These lashes are supposedly shorter while still being very full, so I’m definitely picking up a pair once they release it!

  • Natasha Denona Biba Palette

I don’t think there’s a Natasha Denona palette that I didn’t like. Seriously, her formulation is amazing and the color selections are always on point. They might be more expensive than most palettes in the market, but I really just enjoy using them. The formulation is just outstanding and super easy to use!

  • CoverFx Booster Drops

This booster drops are very intriguing to the makeup artist in me. I like the idea of being able to mix them in with different products to tailor them to whatever my client’s skincare needs are. I’m definitely inclined to pick up one of the formulas, maybe mattifying one, but I will have to pla with the products in store and get a feel for them.

  • Fenty Beauty Sunstalk Bronzer

I really love that Rihanna is coming out with so many bronzing colors! I love that there’s a bronzer for someone very pale and someone who’s a lot darker. I also love how she has both warm and cool understones as well, because it’s 2019 and we need to really move on from orange-looking bronzers.

  • Jeffree Star Blue Blood Palette

I love how different this palette is from all of the palette that usually comes out this time of the year! Yes, this palette is definitely overwhelming for someone who likes a more neutral look, but the shade selection of blues and silver in this palette is refreshing! I definitely would only recommend this to someone who’s more into doing brighter eye makeup looks though!

And that’s about it! I’m actually surprised that I have quite a bit of a list for this season! Most of these products are available at Sephora, and I definitely would recommend you get them during the VIB Spring Bonus Sale, which will either be end of April or beginning of May, depending on your member status. What’s in your makeup wishlist this season? Feel free to share them with me in the comments!
